Doctor Who? BBC reveals 14th Doctor will be Ncuti Gatwa, taking over for Jodie Whittaker

We ’ve known for a while that Jodie Whittaker would be departing Doctor Who this time, and now we eventually know who’ll take her place with the keys to the TARDIS.
The BBC has verified actor Ncuti Gatwa, best known for his award- winning part in Sex Education, will be the 14th Croaker when Whittaker regenerates out of the part.

The casting makes Gatwa the alternate Black actor to play The Doctor, following the 2020 preface of Jo Martin as a “ lost” before replication of the Doctor dubbed the Expatriate Croaker.

But this will mark the first time a Black actor has starred as the Croaker to lead the series.

“ There are n’t quite the words to describe how I ’m feeling. A blend of deeply fete, beyond agitated and of course a little bit spooked.

This part and show means so important to so numerous around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented forerunners has handled that unique responsibility and honor with the utmost care. I’ll endeavour my ultimate to do the same,” Gatwa said in a statement.

“ ( Returning showrunner) Russell T Davies is nearly as iconic as the Doctor himself and being suitable to work with him is a dream come true. His jotting is dynamic, instigative, incredibly intelligent and fizzling with peril. An actor’s tropical playground.

The entire platoon has been so welcoming and truly give their hearts to the show. And so as important as it’s daunting, I ’m apprehensive I ’m joining a really probative family. Unlike the Doctor, I may only have one heart but I’m giving it all to this show.”
Davies added that suckers will have plenitude to look forward to over the coming time and a half, with the brewing salutation for Whittaker’s Croaker and the instigative preface on Ncuti — who he reveals won the part snappily following his first interrogations for Who.

“ The future is then and it’s Ncuti! Occasionally gift walks through the door and it’s so bright and bold and brilliant, I just stand back in admiration and thank my lucky stars.

Ncuti dazed us, seized hold of the Doctor and possessed those TARDIS keys in seconds,” he said. “ It’s an honour to work with him, and a hoot, I ca n’t stay to get started. I am sure you ’re dying to know more, but we ’re allowing ourselves for now, with the awful Jodie’s grand homestretch yet to come.

But I promise you, 2023 will be spectacular!”
